Designed to serve visitors in a pioneering way, most of whom come from socially vulnerable or homeless backgrounds, the environment incorporates a reading corner, counseling room, film screening area and a powerful industrial kitchen.
The duo worked for Bono and had the partnership of big brands such as Alessi, Artek, Artemide, Mutina, Mylands, SCP and Vitra, who donated furniture, lighting and other items. According to Bottura: “London is a city full of challenges and inequalities. Food waste is rampant. There are growing concerns about food poverty and social isolation. Refettorio Felix seeks inclusion, engagement and sharing.”
