CASA COR Minas Gerais annually promotes an award that selects several environments from the show in several categories. Last year, a number of debuting professionals had the pleasure of being awarded. Below, you can read some reports on how the event and the award changed and contributed to the career of each professional.
The duo Júnia Braz and Fernanda Villefort were responsible for the Estar Íntimo and Circulação spaces in the 2015 edition and received the award in the Interior Design category. Júnia highlighted the marketing and networking benefits achieved by participating in the event for the first time. “You become a more sought-after professional in the market. In the eyes of the client, you are on a higher level.”
Another newcomer in 2015 was architect Sarah James, who commented, "It was the best thing that could have happened." Creating a contemporary version of the Closet , Sarah won the award in the Design category. "Being the star of the show is an incredible thrill and challenge. It's not easy to control anxiety and fear when you're a first-timer. It's a kind of showcase effect. It's like receiving a seal of professional qualification. And that's priceless," she says.
Architect Paulo Augusto Campos, who opened his own office last year, confesses that at first he was reluctant to accept Eduardo Faleiro's (director of the exhibition) invitation. “Signing a project alone, at an event like this, generates a mix of feelings. I was afraid, but at the same time, I knew it would be a really cool opportunity, especially since I had just opened my own office.” Paulo was awarded in the Kindness category for creating Cine Terraço , a space that hosted the “CASA COR e Conversa” project.
This year, CASA COR Minas Gerais will take place between August 30th and October 4th at Alameda das Latânias, 30 – São Luiz – Pampulha – Belo Horizonte.
