CASACOR Bahia will once again take place at a venue that had already been occupied in 2014, Chacará Baluarte, in Santo Antônio Além do Carmo. This year, the show will have 38 spaces including bedrooms, lofts, bathrooms, balconies, studios, living rooms, in a plot of land measuring almost 12,000 m².
Pedro Ariel Santana, content and relationship director at CASACOR , gave an exclusive interview to O Alô Alô Bahia , talking about the details of the Bahian show. Check it out below:AAB- What do you consider most unique about the Bahian edition of CASACOR ?PA - Without a doubt, what makes this edition of CASACOR Bahia special is the privileged location. The view of the Port of Salvador and the Forte de Santo Antônio is a stunning setting for the show. Another cool thing is the renewal of part of the cast. The new generation of architects is coming with a lot of energy. I was surprised by the quality of this group's projects.AAB- Based on a single theme – which this year isA Casa Viva – what is your job like as a curator of editions in such different states, with such particular markets?PA - The curator's job is to make the event attractive as a whole, working on both the master plan and each space. I try to correct any excesses that I find in the space designs, reducing the number of coverings, for example, and pointing out the best ideas. of each project. When meeting with the professional, we discuss each person’s intention in participating in CASACOR and analyze how they can enhance the project to achieve their goals, always seeking quality. Often, my job is to reinforce the professional’s self-confidence. The 2018 themeA Casa Viva is a way for the show to be up to date with international trends, valuing greenery, nature, emotional relationships and memories in this highly technological and impersonal world.AAB- How did you receive the news of the location chosen for this year's show?PA - I was super happy. CASACOR Bahia 2014 , in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the show, took place at the same farm in Santo Antônio. It was one of the most beautiful shows I have ever seen in all of Brazil, ever. The sunset in All Saints Bay makes the visit unforgettable.AAB- What are the next steps for CASACOR Bahia ? Do you have any scheduled visits to return to your homeland?PA - Now it's time to start the works and speed up so that everything is ready by mid-September for the yearbook photos. For now, I'm following the changes in the projects via email and WhatsApp. At the end of September, I'll return to Salvador to see how everything is going. it was left.AAB- What do you usually do in your free time in Salvador, when you are not involved with the exhibition? What is your favorite place here?PA - I have family and friends in Salvador. So I take the opportunity to visit them all (or almost all of them), have a beer with sun-dried meat in some bar in Santo Antônio, or an acarajé in Rio Vermelho. I also like to go for a swim in Porto da Barra. , I have an apartment nearby. Another cool thing to do is go to one of the nice restaurants in the Marina.
