Estúdio Trigo is a retreat for young, independent
chefs who find in the kitchen, their workplace, a space to remember family affectionate figures and value hospitality and comfort.
Renato Mendonça 's project at
CASACOR São Paulo 2019 focuses on exploring the use of stone, a material that ensures rusticity in the kitchen and suite where it appears. In its raw state, gneiss stone is the result of the deformation of granite sediments, and appears with little polish to support unlikely places, such as the table leg.
Other materials used are also natural: the wood used in the lining and finishing went through a carbonization process, which intensified its black tone, and the ceramic flooring was made from burnt clay, a process that ensures, in addition to durability, thermal stability. of the environment.
Natural colors and materials are predominant. The earthy color of the floor brings the backyard into the home, the peeling walls enhance the beauty of the simplicity of the demolition bricks. The design of the 48m² was made with imperfect finishes and manual work, such as on the loom carpet. Growing your own vegetables also enhances the natural, contrasting with the contemporary in furniture that meets the needs of modern life.
The studio returns to its origins, in a house where the essentials are done, but which is also conceived as more than just a home.
