The Museu da Casa Brasileira will host an exhibition of 91 projects selected from the 33rd edition of the MCB Design Award until March 8th of next year . The exhibition will be accompanied by the panel Pioneers of Brazilian Design – José Zanine Caldas, in celebration of the designer's historic centenary. The projects representing this edition of the award were divided into the categories Products and Written Works. In Products, 29 pieces were awarded – among them, the winners of first, second and third place – and 35 were curated by the jury to be part of the exhibition. In Written Works, 27 works will be on display in the published and unpublished categories. This year, the award received 559 works that were judged by two independent committees. Levi Girardi, a designer graduated from FAAP-SP and founding partner of the Questtonó studio, coordinated the judging committee in the Product categories. The Written Works category was coordinated by Teresa Riccetti, a professor and researcher in the design course at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. “The main objective of the Museu da Casa Brasileira Design Award is to recognize the excellence of Brazilian design, value the work of professionals and, consequently, encourage and strengthen the area”, explains Miriam Lerner, General Director of the MCB.
