Starting on August 17th and running until September 5th, the
Cinema Urbana - International Architecture Film Festival will pay tribute to
Paulo Mendes da Rocha , one of the most famous Brazilian architects. With the film
"Tudo é projeto" , produced by
Joana Mendes da Rocha (daughter of Paulo Mendes) and
Patricia Rubano , the memory of the architect – who passed away in May 2021 – is kept alive through a series of interviews conducted with over ten years, in which he tells his story and
reflects on architecture, urban planning, nature, among other topics .
The film will be shown in person at the
Banco do Brasil Cultural Center in Brasília on the opening date, in a formal session at 6:30 pm. The session will feature testimonies from
Heloísa Moura (president of IAB-DF),
Maurício Goulart (IPHAN-DF – architect and urban planner ) and
Luciana Sabóia (architect and urban planner, PPG-FAU UnB coordinator).
Paulo Mendes da Rocha is one of the most celebrated contemporary Brazilian architects. He died in May 2021, at the age of 92. In 2006, he won the
Pritzker Prize , the most important in world architecture, and in 2016 he received the
Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale and the
Imperial Japan Prize for Lifetime Achievement.

Tickets : Tickets (free) for in-person sessions will be available on the day of the session, starting at 9 am. Up to two (02) tickets per CPF can be purchased on the website
www.eventim.com.br . Activities will be subject to availability. . For the outdoor sessions, which will take place on August 20, 21 and 22, we recommend that spectators bring beach towels and chairs as the screening will take place in the CCBB Garden.
