In 2021,
CASACOR Minas Gerais went further when it comes to investing in the preservation of memory and culture. One of the novelties of this edition is the partnership signed between the event, the State Secretariat of Culture and Tourism of Minas Gerais, the company Novus 3D and sponsored by Codemge, which offers a
virtual tour of the Palácio das Mangabeiras in 1955 , rescuing the
original structures of the building , at the time of construction. The visit was developed based on an
extensive historical survey , recovering images and data from the original project like a real journey through time.
To make this possible, a team carried out a
rigorous survey of the topography of the land and its surroundings , as well as photographs from the time. It took
two months of research , seeking to understand the materials, the details, what really existed there and what which was not carried out at the time. It took a very keen eye from the team to discover, in very small details, often present in photographs faded by time, the exact way in which this reconstruction was carried out.
This task force to rescue the past also included some interesting facts. In total, 22 photographs, in addition to an old report with the then governor Magalhães Pinto in the external area of the palace, were used to decipher period details. According to this report,
the construction It was secret and for many years it was used as a private place for the public , hence the scarcity of official information and photos. Among other discoveries, the construction of the sauna area and the helipad are later. According to the research, they probably appeared in the 1980s. What's more,
the area of the Palace was about 30% smaller than it is today . Expansions and alterations took place during the governments following the establishment of the Palace.
The 3D Tour is an
important achievement and an action that deserves to be celebrated , contributing to presenting the population with information about this important heritage of the people of Minas Gerais, adding culture, information and historical basis to those interested in embarking on this fascinating journey.
