CASACOR Ribeirão Preto joined forces with the NGO TETO , a Chilean organization that operates in seven Brazilian states and, since 2019, in Ribeirão Preto, to reflect on dignified housing. At the exhibition, the NGO presented work developed by its team of volunteers to overcome the poverty situation in Brazilian favelas: an 18 m² emergency housing, sustainable and low cost . The emergency housing was built at the exhibition in just two days. Between November 5th and 6th, it will be sent to a community in Ribeirão Preto where it will be reassembled and become a family home. "This year, we are honored to be at the show as 'exhibitors', precisely to contrast, bring another perspective on housing and help raise awareness and consciousness about the reality to which millions of people are subjected daily", says Lucas Lima Borges, TETO Headquarters Manager.

With the space at the exhibition, the NGO hopes to find new allies in Ribeirão Preto to join forces and enhance results in the city. "At CASACOR Ribeirão Preto, the intention of the action is not to cause discomfort or find someone to blame for this issue, but to bring about reflection that we are all responsible for this change and agents of transformation." TETO's emergency housing is built with environmental sustainability in mind. The wood used in the construction is certified reforestation products and the tiles are made from recycled materials (juice and milk cartons, etc.). The sanitary module is integrated into an alternative system. basic sanitation with biodigesters. According to Maurício Siqueira , director of CASACOR Ribeirão Preto, at the end of the exhibition, the materials that are not reused will be donated. "We will gather everything that will not be reused and send it to the NGO. Our goal is to continue contributing to this work and the project." from TETO ", he concluded.
