The blog A Cor da Casa highlights today the beautiful landscaping project in the external area of the Women's Suite , by architect Gisele Taranto, designed by the Burle Marx Landscaping Office at CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2018. The office maintains the concepts of Roberto Burle Marx, who believed in landscape design as an art form. The iconic landscaper proposed a new style of composition, associating a plastic approach with a strong artistic bias with the use of native plants with strong and vivid colors, taking advantage of their intrinsic characteristics, such as: volume, shape and texture.

The firm is currently run by the third generation of landscape architects – Isabela, Julio and Gustavo – who have extensive national and international experience and maintain the creative concepts of Haruyoshi and Burle Marx. Isabela Ono, the current CEO, and her partners Gustavo Leivas and Julio Ono, took over the management of the firm in a process that had already begun naturally and gradually, through daily interaction and the development of landscape projects together with Haruyoshi over the last few years.

In the design for the Women's Suite , tropical vegetation is deliberately densely planted around the entire outdoor area, creating a terrace with an intimate stone garden, subtly integrating it into the surroundings. The sound of the water's movement reinforces this relaxing atmosphere, further enhancing the space. The use of some groups of plants alongside the stone brings to the garden a reference to the rocky coastline that exists in the Rio de Janeiro landscape.

The neutral gray floor expands the living space, which is furnished with award-winning national design furniture: a table and four low chairs in certified wood, which can take on different configurations in the space, separate or together, thus reinforcing the concept of a "nest house".

In contrast to the dense vegetation in shades of green, the black water mirror and the rock, the landscaping project includes an artistic piece in the shape of a bench, which dialogues with the tension between the artisanal and the technological, the baroque and the modern.

The artistic bench was made entirely from original pieces designed by Roberto Burle Marx and Haruyoshi Ono in the late 1980s, using a palette of warm colors (yellows, oranges and reds) and cool colors (shades of blue and pistachio). This material was developed with both full-panel designs and individual series, which were selected by landscapers Isabela Ono, Julio Ono and Gustavo Leivas for a contemporary reinterpretation of the masters and the period. This multicolored piece contrasts with and dialogues with the intimate concept of the garden, referring to the idea of a modern, empowered woman who is in control of her space; a concept proposed by architect Gisele Taranto for the space.
