The Japanese designer has just launched two exclusive patterns for the ALPI brand, Maritime Pine and Japanese Cedar

The Japanese Cedar , a tree considered a symbol of longevity and majesty, has a bark colored with shades of red and brown, skillfully reproduced in the pattern, showing the changes that occur as the tree grows: in the section closest to the roots, the bark appears smooth, becoming more wrinkled and vertically split toward the top of the tree.
Kengo Kuma has just launched two exclusive patterns for the ALPI brand, an Italian company that has been producing pre-composed wood veneers since the 1950s. The Japanese designer created the Maritime Pine and Japanese Cedar products, which narrate the expressive identity of the wood in its primordial state, through the exploration of the strength and robustness of nature: the bark of the trees embodies the essence of the material and reveals its personality.
