Maurício Nóbrega Arquitetura – Casa Bistrô. In the space previously reserved for the residence's garage, in a recessed area of its large garden, the restaurant features a mix of pieces of different styles – many of them found in the house itself and unused for years. The use of plants as dividers and the maintenance of coverings such as the old tiles in the space bring more personality to the environment. The furniture favors large and spacious tables that allow distancing even between people in the same group. (André Nazareth)

There are 12 thousand square meters of open-air green space . An entire block invaded by the most diverse species of the Atlantic Forest. A true pocket forest in the middle of the city, next to other natural gems of Rio: the Botanical Garden and Parque Lage. An opportunity unique way to get to know the space, which was previously private, and have a moment of connection with nature and the beauty that only Rio offers, without the risk of crowds .
And what could be more carioca than spending a day enjoying the city's natural beauty ? At CASACOR Rio , visitors have two hours to visit the interiors of the main house. Once the visit is over, a good idea is to sit in the gardens , breathe in the fresh air, have a picnic with the delights of Cooking 2 Go , contemplate nature and relax, leaving aside, even if only for a few moments, the hardships of everyday life.
A kind of Rio de Janeiro Taj Mahal , the house that belonged to the public health doctor Oswaldo Cruz was acquired in the 1960s by Jorge Brando Barbosa and completely renovated by him as a gift for his wife, Odaléa. Together, the couple gave the space a palatial feel , with a huge collection of pieces acquired at auctions, farms, churches and convents in the interior of Brazil, as well as noble materials such as Carrara and Belgian marble, rosewood and 18th century tiles used as coverings. All these architectural elements were restored, revitalized and used by the CASACOR Rio cast and can be enjoyed during the visit.
Commanded by Cooking Buffet , this year's gastronomy deserves all the attention. At Casa Bistrô , a restaurant decorated by Maurício Nóbrega, the a la carte dishes include classics such as Poached Haddock with potato mousseline and Citrus Chicken with black rice risotto and chestnut farofa. At Empório Cooking 2 Go , snacks and food are served in charming boxes that can be enjoyed on a picnic in our gardens, at the tables of the emporium itself, or even taken home to be consumed. The visitor chooses. And there is also the drinks . Both in the restaurant and in the Chá Bar , decorated by Roberta Nicolau. A great choice for a late afternoon in Rio.
CASACOR Rio was fully prepared to receive visitors , following all the necessary health and safety standards required by the authorities for the exhibition to operate. In addition to the extensive open-air green area , the main house is extremely airy with more than 60 balcony doors and windows and a 5-meter ceiling height – conditions that provide cross ventilation and great air circulation (there is not even air conditioning in the house). Even so, internal visits must be scheduled , must occur within two hours, and the number of people per environment is limited . All to ensure that there is no crowding. Throughout the exhibition space, Deca has placed numerous sanitizing stations that allow visitors to wash their hands as many times as they wish. The entire food court has been set up outdoors and the restaurants follow all the standards required for the category. In addition, alcohol gel is distributed and the use of a mask is mandatory. CASACOR Rio will be open until May 9th at Residência Brando Barbosa. For the first time, the exhibition is hybrid , with an in-person version and a digital version, with videos and 3D tours available here on the website !
