Pantone has announced the color of the year 2025:
Mocha Mousse (PANTONE 17-1230) , a warm brown that is sophisticated and versatile. According to the company, the soft and cozy shade appeals to our
desire for comfort and simple pleasures – qualities that evoke the chocolate and coffee condensed in its name,
mocha mousse .
"For the Pantone Color of the Year 2025, we chose a soft brown hue whose
inherent richness and
comforting, sensorial warmth further taps into our desire for comfort and the indulgence of simple pleasures that we can gift and share with others," explains Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute.
The
2025 Color of the Year also evokes a sophisticated, earthy elegance, allowing it to be used alone or as a versatile base for a
wide range of palettes and applications – from minimalist designs to richly detailed compositions.
How selection works
Each year, Pantone engages the design community and color enthusiasts in a conversation about color, highlighting the
relationship between color and culture . As such, selecting the Color of the Year is not just about predicting trends, but also about capturing the global spirit. According to the brand, the Color of the Year “expresses a global mood and attitude, reflecting collective desire in a single, distinct hue.” Always ahead of trends,
CASACOR has revealed, over the years, several suggestions for environments and color compositions in the same palette as Mocha Mousse. To inspire you, we have selected projects in the gallery below where the color brown is the protagonist – in the hope that it will help you bring your home up to date with the trends. Check it out!
