The team of professionals responsible for CASACOR São Paulo 2026 gathered this Wednesday (25) at Parque da Água Branca for an immersion into the theme "Mind and Heart", in a lecture conducted by Pedro Ariel Santana, Director of Relationships and Content at CASACOR, and Ana Clara Escuciato, Curatorial Assistant. The meeting marked a fundamental moment of conceptual alignment, providing the team with the theoretical foundations that should guide the creation of the projects for this edition.

The morning began with welcome remarks from Livia Pedreira, President of the Curatorial Council, who emphasized the importance of the theme to reflect on the role of architecture in a constantly changing world. Next, Pedro Ariel shared references that support "Mind and Heart" and highlighted that the home increasingly establishes itself as a space of reconnection. Finally, the curator reiterated that the projects should respond to both practical needs and the subjective dimensions of habitation, promoting well-being, belonging, and meaning.

Next, Ana Clara Escuciato elaborated on these concepts by presenting examples of projects in Brazil and abroad that incorporate principles of a "healing home". Through solutions that value natural light, sensory materiality, integration with nature, and spatial organization focused on well-being, she demonstrated how architecture can directly influence the physical, mental, and emotional health of users.

Finally, architect Alexandre Salles from Estúdio Tarimba and member of the CASACOR São Paulo team, along with Caroline Martins, President of the Aproxima Association, presented the work of the nonprofit organization, which promotes ethnic-racial diversity in the industry. The initiative aims to widen access for newly graduated professionals to opportunities in architecture firms, construction companies, developers, industries, and public agencies, contributing to the construction of a field that is more plural, representative, and socially committed.

Mind and Heart

Mind and Heart is the creative proposal that will guide the exhibitions of CASACOR in 2026. The theme brings the challenge of addressing the home as a space for healing and self-care in light of the overwhelming amount of information and the anxieties brought about by the inclusion of artificial intelligence in daily life.

The theme is built based on the annual macro-trend research conducted by the brand, which points to contemporary issues regarding dwelling. Among the identified topics is the increasingly necessary relationship between humans and the places where they reside, a space that accepts fragility and intimacy.
