The furniture design market starts the year with a bang. Every January, imm Cologne kicks off the industry's activities. The international trade fair always takes place in Cologne, Germany, and in 2019 it will be held from the 14th to the 20th. . The theme of this edition is New Interior Worlds . Studio Sebastian Herkner will showcase new designs for brands such as Ames, Tradition, Pulpo, Schoenbuch, Thonet and Wittmann, as well as pieces for new partners such as Freifrau and Zanotta. Ona is the first collection for German furniture brand Freifrau. The design is inspired by the idea of having upholstered piping that accentuates the silhouette of the seat (pictured). The delicate detailing gives the chair a strong and iconic presence.

Taking place inside a railway bunker, this satellite event is part of the city’s design week. The project explores how the environment can influence a product and includes work from four German designers: Karoline Fesser, Klemens Grund, Thomas Schnur and Tim Kerp.
