To celebrate the 30-year career of Fernando Brandão – a renowned professional who is part of the CASACOR cast –, the Museu da Casa Brasileira is promoting the launch of the new book "Belonging: Always!", on November 12th, at 7 pm. .

The publication presents references to contemporary Brazilian architecture through texts, photographs, drawings, plans and sketches from all phases of the architect's career. Records of visual identity work, installations, customized stands for fairs, expography, editions of CASACOR and others. large projects such as the iconic Livraria Cultura at Conjunto Nacional, in São Paulo.

The architect's work is guided by five principles that give names to the book's chapters: accessibility, connectivity, sustainability, identity and humanity. Abroad, Brandão won the competition that chose the design for the Brazilian Pavilion at the 2010 Universal Expo in Shanghai, China. Built with pine wood, typical of Brazilian forests, the work broke the Brazilian record for attendance at an event abroad by receiving 2.6 million visitors. Three years later, he became the first Brazilian to have an architecture office in China. Since then, he has been based in Shanghai, where he also gives lectures and workshops at universities such as Fudan University Shanghai and Peking University.

With 768 pages and an oriental-style closure, the title was conceived as a Chinese gift. "Nowadays, everyone reads architecture in small formats, like in photos on Instagram and Facebook. This book, also made in small format, transforms it into a if in a design object that allows affection – it is a Chinese-style gift that seeks to convey gratitude, respect, consideration and generosity", explains the architect. Only 1,000 copies of the publication were printed and it features texts in Portuguese, English and Mandarin.
