Meet the filmmaker responsible for the CASACOR SP 2022 timelapse

CASACOR São Paulo 2022 comemora seus 35 anos no Conjunto Nacional

Have you ever wondered how a CASACOR is put together? How an empty space, from one moment to the next, becomes the largest and most complete exhibition of architecture , interior design and landscaping in the Americas? This year, CASACOR São Paulo receives the 8k lenses of filmmaker Fernanda Ramos, from Jugular Filmes , a specialist and pioneer of timelapse in Brazil, to document the assembly of the São Paulo exhibition, which takes its 35th anniversary commemorative edition to an unprecedented location: the National Set .

With a degree in Cinema and Video from ECA-USP, Fernanda specialized in timelapse to monitor engineering works, which improved not only her practice in making this type of film, but also her technical knowledge of cinematographic equipment.

“I use a system that I have developed over the years. These are high-resolution fixed focal length lenses, which make the image sophisticated and even sharper,” says Fernanda.

Presented at a speed greater than the event, timelapse is the compact memory of an event, synthesizing the documented project in a shorter time. Events such as CASACOR are ideal for this type of filming. "It's very interesting to have a record of CASACOR through timelapse , because it's an ephemeral event, which has a limited duration", comments the filmmaker.

"In the final result, there is there [in the timelapse] the memory of what happened and the way it was executed." Fernanda was responsible for the timelapse of Casa LG ThinQ , a space designed by architect Guto Requena for CASACOR São Paulo 2021. It was the first work carried out by the filmmaker at the São Paulo exhibition. Check out the result in the video below.

This year, she returns with an even greater responsibility: to create a timelapse of the entire show! "I was very happy with the invitation! I'm excited, because it's also the first time that I've made a timelapse film in black and white ", says the filmmaker.
