It is no exaggeration to say that art transforms. Among the many environments that could be created for Janelas CASACOR, São Paulo edition, the team of Ester Carro, Verônica Vaccaro and the office Plantar Ideias chose to create a gallery. This construction is symbolic, because a gallery none is complete without works to fill it. Thus, the Fazendinhando Gallery , in Jardim Colombo, was born so that residents could occupy it, filling it with art! “Usually, in the outskirts, we breathe art. It is what brings hope, life. It is through art that we can express ourselves, whether in painting, sculpture or dance. Here in Colombo it is no different.”, he explains. Ester.

Thinking of art as a form of appreciation, recognition and personal expression, the first exhibition at Galeria Fazendinhando is made up of works signed by women living in the community, of all ages and professions. The idea, according to Ester, is to highlight the potential of Jardim Colombo, especially the potential of women who produce art, despite all the difficulties. The great artists on display do not necessarily work professionally in the field: they paint, draw and take photographs out of passion. Until now, their talents were “hidden”, so to speak, but now they are being presented to Jardim Colombo and the world. Crispina , Adriana and Kamila shared a little of their creative experience with CASACOR . Check it out below!

The colors of dreams

The vibrant colors of Crispina Umbelina de Souza ’s paintings and drawings captivate those who observe them. She says she really wants to take an art course to perfect and explore her talent. About seeing herself in the Gallery, she says: “I loved it so much. I’m amazed by everything what happened. I received people who praised my work and they liked it a lot. I'm sure others will come, because I love art.”

The traces of discovery

Kamilla Bianca has been a photographer and videographer for five years. She has also been a resident of Jardim Colombo for five years. She takes the photographs exhibited at the Gallery together with André Casalle , also a resident of the community. “We took the photographs thinking about the structure here. , specifically in architecture. We think about the facades of the houses, the beauty of these facades. We realize that they have very lively facades, with a very strong presence of living beings, of plants. They are very beautiful.”

André - who started taking pictures at a very young age, at 12 - says that seeing his images on display gave him a sense of unity. “It wasn’t anything individual, it was a collective feeling. It was a sum. As I like to photograph expressions, I enjoyed seeing how people reacted, not only to my art, but to the Gallery as a whole. What made me happiest were the looks, the words. That transcends!”

Kamila says she is thrilled to know that her work is in the Gallery. “Just knowing that these photos would be exhibited, especially in the place where you live, was incredible! I got butterflies in my stomach when I saw the images there, inside.” from the container, with people watching! For artists, it is very rewarding to see their work for the world. Because we make our art for the world!
