July 7th is the day of the most beloved and delicious sweet in the world:
chocolate! This date became known, in fact, for marking the arrival of chocolate on the European continent in the 15th century, because, before that, the product was only known by the Mayans and Aztecs. Nicknamed "
black gold ", chocolate became
synonymous with wealth and status for the aristocracy, becoming popular only after the
Industrial Revolution .
The merchandise arrived in Brazil around 1746, as a gift for the Bahian farmer Antônio Dias Ribeiro. Thus, due to the region's favorable soil and climate,
cocoa crops prospered in Brazil and , currently, according to data from the Brazilian Association of the Chocolate, Peanut and Candy Industry (Abicab), its production in the country reached
370 thousand tons in the first half of 2022 alone . So, whether it's
milk chocolate, white chocolate, dark chocolate, ruby chocolate or
soy chocolate , chocolate goes with everything and pleases everyone's tastes! So, in honor of
