portraying Brazil faithfully , displaying in his works the Brazilian people in all their facets: from
black women, men, children, workers, samba dancers, peripheral people , and many others. When he came to São Paulo to study Law, the artist met
Oswald de Andrade , and together they created the
Semana de Arte Moderna , a landmark of modernism in the country.
