Considered the main room in many houses and apartments, the
living room deserves to be decorated with care. After all, it is the space where we welcome family and friends and also where we relax after a busy day. Therefore, many aspects must be taken into consideration when planning the room, such as
circulation ,
comfort of furniture,
technology of audio and video equipment, and
aesthetics , of course. At
CASACOR, there is no shortage of
living room decoration ideas – and many of them are far from cliché. That’s why we’ve prepared a careful selection of suggestions from exhibitions all over Brazil. Check it out below!
1. Engaged art
In the living room of the space designed by the
PKB Arquitetura office for
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro , the sculpture by Caio Marcolini and the photograph by Christian Cravo from the Mariana exhibition (which portrays the memories of one of the country's greatest environmental tragedies, with the rupture of the Fundão dam, Minas Gerais, in 2015), reinforce the idea of
awareness brought by the professionals. The table sculpture “A n(ovo) day”, by Monterraro Estudio — designers Antonio Crestani and Pâmela Oliveira, from the city of Canoas, lost their home and studio in the floods in Rio Grande do Sul, at the beginning of the year — is also part of this proposal.
2. Picture on the shelf
Still on the subject of
works of art , the space designed by the
Lessa Zanetta Arquitetura office at
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro brought an unusual proposal. One of the paintings that make up the project appears above the bookshelf, as if it were a
sliding door . The contemporary style of the work dialogues with the lines of the furniture, which brings representatives from the modernist era and the present day.
3. Natural materials
In the project by architect
Natália Lemos for
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro , inspiration came from the
cerrado — the region where the professional was born. That's why natural textures are everywhere, from the furniture to the coverings. Note the
biriba ceiling , which is a tribute to artisanal techniques and respect for the raw materials of the land. In addition,
earthy tones permeate every corner of the studio, giving the feeling of being rooted in fertile soil.
4. Mirror game
A light and elegant atmosphere takes over the space created by architect
Fernanda Medeiros at
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro in homage to fashion designer Glorinha Paranaguá. The furniture of national design, mix of fabrics, rugs and natural textures guarantee coziness. Some charming compositions stand out, such as the
arrangement of mirrors on the
tea trolley used as a bar and support for vases.
5. Colorful bookshelf
The personality of writer
Clarice Lispector was the guiding thread for the creation of this space designed by architect
Nejaim Azevedo at
CASACOR Pernambuco . The intense red tone is strong and dramatic and contrasts with the green, bringing balance and tranquility. The highlight is the shelf molded into niches in the reddish tone, which serves as a support for books, objects and plants.
6. Cacti in decoration
Colored with
warm tones , both on the walls and ceiling as well as on the furniture, the space of the
Arqsign office for
CASACOR Pernambuco is inspired by the memories of a poet. An interesting idea for decorating a room in this space is the composition of vases with
cacti of various heights, which brings a casual look.
7. Combined coffee tables
Inspired by chocolate bars, the Garoto coffee table, designed by Estúdio Mula Preta, is a highlight in the space created by
Studio Kaza Arquitetura at
CASACOR Santa Catarina | Itapema . The piece of furniture with playful lines brings a
fun touch to the decor of the room, which was based on emotional elements. The loft is like a refuge, integrating nature with the urban environment.
9. Round niche
Everything is very delicate and fluid in the living room designed by architect
Bruna Tuon Sposito at
CASACOR Santa Catarina | Florianópolis . The proposal revisits the professional's origins and roots and reflects on the legacy she wants to leave.
Rounded shapes were used in several opportunities to reinforce lightness. An example of this is the round niche that the professional designed on the wall, where some black shelves were installed.
10. Exposed structure
The starting point for the decoration of this room was the
Mid Century style. Designed by
Ana Paula Paolinelli at
CASACOR Minas Gerais , the project features
exposed concrete surrounded by wooden
muxarabi panels all around. In addition, wood is present in the furniture designed by Brazilian designers such as Oscar Niemeyer, Bernardo Figueiredo, Jorge Zalszupin and Jader Almeida.
11. Minimalist arrangement
A vibrant expression of modernity and cosmopolitan style takes over the living room designed by
Maria Laura Coelho at
CASACOR Minas Gerais . In predominantly minimalist compositions, points of color, textures, ornaments with gold metals and colorless glass stand out.
12. Print on everything
Luisa Mano works fearlessly with
prints in her space at
CASACOR Minas Gerais . The graphic
designs on the floor and walls (a joint creation by the architect and Pedro Lázaro) dress the space, designed for someone who makes their own clothes at home. In this way, it celebrates the art of creating fashion with one's own hands.
13. Photos on the wall
(Henrique Queiroga / CASACOR)
In the living room designed by
Maikyanne Sodré at
CASACOR Minas Gerais , the composition of small paintings above the sofa is striking. The photographs reinforce the
artsy atmosphere of the place, designed under the concept of the
ancestral constructions using earthy tones, natural materials and diverse textures.
14. Books in decoration
Architect
Melina Romano 's idea was to provide visitors with yet another cultural experience at
CASACOR São Paulo . That's why she chose
works of art by iconic artists to decorate her space, which includes a complete home. On the side of the living room, the side table has a ceramic covering that adds a natural and realistic touch to the piece, and on top of it, Melina created a decoration with books.
15. Different partition
Using
sustainable materials produced by artisans in the interior of São Paulo, which highlight the care for nature, the intimate environment created by architect
Ana Weege at
CASACOR São Paulo encourages observers to reflect on the legacy we will leave for future generations. The décor, with original and period furniture, includes a
screen made of reed straw and walls covered in coconut fiber.
