The 52nd edition of the Pritzker Prize , considered the " Oscar of Architecture ", awarded the prize to British architect David Chipperfield - responsible for great works of the century, such as the Neues Museum , in Berlin, and also intervention in the design of the iconic Piazza San Marco in Venice . According to the Pritzker organization, Chipperfield's work is described as " subtle but powerful. Moderate but elegant ." The award reaffirms the British architect's role as a major name in contemporary architecture worldwide.
