In partnership with Inovatech and, this year, with Polzer, CASACOR has included sustainability actions in its strategic planning. Since 2015, several efforts have generated results in the short, medium and long term.
Expanding the management of the exhibition’s inputs, in 2018, we used fertilizer generated by composting organic food waste – produced during the assembly, event and disassembly – as a supplement for some gardens. Around 400 kg of fertilizer were added to the flower beds in the exhibition area. Lídia Maciel, in the bamboo plantation of Sálvio Jr. and Moacir Jr. and in the flower beds of Dado Castello Branco.
Composting is the set of techniques applied to stimulate the decomposition of organic materials by microorganisms, with the aim of obtaining, in the shortest possible time, a stable material rich in minerals.
Visitors to Leroy Merlin Sustainable House can take home a sample of the fertilizer produced at the Jockey Club. The charming little bags contain information about the entire process.
