Last Tuesday (02/08),
CASACOR São Paulo invited a group of members of the Municipal Secretariat for People with Disabilities (
SMPED ), the Permanent Accessibility Commission of the City of São Paulo (
CPA ), the Council of Architecture and Urbanism from São Paulo (
CAU/SP ) and entities related to people with disabilities to visit the exhibition and see first-hand the
actions related to accessibility developed at the event, with the consultancy of architect
Silvana Cambiaghi , to reinforce the improvement of the
CASACOR experience for wheelchair users and visually and hearing impaired.
The actions developed by the exhibition include:
- Installation on the ground floor of a tactile map with dual reading (Portuguese and Braille);
- Insertion of QRCode on the table with audio description of the Masterplan;
- Installation of tactile flooring in the elevator, at the access to the Ticket Office and at the entrance and exit of the ramps to the Special Rooms;
- Installation of numbered tactile plates at the entrance to each room, on the handrails of the ramps in the Special Rooms and in the accessible WC cubicles;
- The CASACOR App includes a sign language translator from Icom (partnership with AME). The information is also available on the totems that indicate the App download .
Among the highlights of this edition is also the
tactile map of the environment "A new way of the same way", developed by architect
Marina Linhares , who also installed an explanatory video with subtitles and sign language in her space.
Accessibility is one of
CASACOR 's key words. Since 2018, all CASACOR toilets have an accessible cabin. Before that, in 2016, all areas began to allow wheelchairs to circulate.
