CASACOR São Paulo has just received the Accessibility Seal granted by the Permanent Accessibility Commission (CPA) – an agency linked to the City of São Paulo and the Municipal Secretariat for People with Disabilities (SMPED) – for public or private facilities that guarantee accessibility for people with disabilities and reduced mobility. To receive the Accessibility Seal , CASACOR São Paulo underwent a rigorous evaluation by a team of engineers and architects, people with disabilities and members of the CPA – which has an advisory and deliberative role in matters of Accessibility and Universal Design. The approval of the certification involved Secretariats, entities from related areas and representatives of civil society, in order to verify whether the needs were being met, focusing on universal design and the required technical standards .

The ceremony was attended by members of SMPED, CPA, civil society, as well as renowned professionals from the sector, such as the architect and consultant for the show, Silvana Cambiaghi , from Design Universal Consultoria.

According to Silvana, “ CASACOR is a trend multiplier , demonstrating the importance that accessibility and universal design bring to architecture, design and landscaping. In addition, of course, to highlighting the anthropometric and sensory diversity of bodies”, reminding the public of more than one million people with disabilities and reduced mobility in Brazil. For Darlan Firmato , “the agenda is urgent and focuses on belonging. There is no way to dissociate CASACOR, an event about living, from the welcoming that is an integral part of this process”.
