The event also marked the official announcement of the new address for CASACOR Rio 2026, revealed by partner-directors Patricia Mayer and Patricia Quentel. The commemorative 35-year edition will occupy the Aliança da Bahia Building, at Rua Araújo Porto Alegre, 36, in downtown Rio de Janeiro, opposite the Gustavo Capanema Palace. The modernist building, recently restored through a retrofit integrated into the Reviver Centro program, will host the show between September 22 and November 15, 2026.
During the presentation, Pedro Ariel Santana proposed a reflection on the impacts of the contemporary pace, hyperconnectivity and technological transformations on the way we live and relate to spaces. The curator highlighted the role of architecture and design in creating projects focused on welcoming, slowing down and emotional well-being.
Next, Ana Clara Escuciato presented references, projects and research that dialogue with the "Mind and Heart" concept, reinforcing the idea of the home as a space for healing, balance and human reconnection. Among the topics addressed were natural lighting, biophilia, sensorial materialities and integration between architecture and nature.

With the theme "Mind and Heart", CASACOR 2026 challenges professionals to create spaces capable of balancing functionality, emotional memory, emotional health and human connection, reflecting on new ways of inhabiting in the face of the transformations of the contemporary world.
The 2026 edition takes place at a symbolic moment for both the show and the city. In addition to celebrating the 35 years of CASACOR Rio, the occupation of the Aliança da Bahia Building reinforces the show's role as an agent of architectural heritage appreciation and urban resignification, broadening the connection between culture, design and city.

Considered one of the modernist icons of downtown Rio, the building was constructed between 1957 and 1961 to house Companhia de Seguros Aliança da Bahia and recently underwent an extensive restoration process, completed in 2025. Listed by the Rio World Heritage Institute, the property preserves original features such as glass façades, metal brises and travertine marble cladding.
