CASACOR Minas Gerais already has a confirmed venue for 2026. After hosting the edition that celebrated the show’s 30th anniversary in the state, the PUC Minas Lourdes building, on the Circuito Liberdade, will once again welcome the leading cultural platform for architecture, landscape design, art, and interior design in the Americas. The 31st edition takes place between August 15 and September 27.
More than a return to the same venue, keeping the show at the site for another year marks the continuation of the building’s revitalization process begun in 2025. The expectation is to expand the structural improvements already carried out, reinforcing the legacy left by the show and contributing to the enhancement of the building, which will in the future be dedicated entirely to the university’s activities.

The continuation of the event in the space also deepens the dialogue between the show, the architectural heritage, and the city. By occupying the building for two consecutive editions, CASACOR Minas reinforces the proposal to activate and enhance existing structures, bringing the public closer to an important urban ensemble in Belo Horizonte.
In 2026, CASACOR’s national theme will be “Mind and Heart,” an invitation for architects, designers, and landscape architects to reflect on the role of the home as a territory of care, balance, and well-being. The proposal was defined by the curatorial team after trend studies that point to new emotional and behavioral demands of contemporary life.

The theme also addresses recent everyday challenges, such as hyperconnectivity and the growing presence of artificial intelligence, which intensify phenomena like the FOMO syndrome — fear of missing out. In this context, the home emerges as a space for pause and reconnection, capable of balancing external stimuli and emotional needs.
During the 2025 edition, the building received a series of structural interventions that remain as a legacy for the space. They include the restoration of wooden floors, repairs to interior paint, cleaning and the beginning of the restoration of the front façade, a new exterior lighting project, accessibility improvements, revitalization of circulation areas, and the implementation of new public restrooms.

One of the highlights was the creation of the CAU/MG and PUC Minas Architect and Urbanist Training Space, conceived to become a permanent auditorium for the university. Measuring around 120 m² and with capacity for approximately 100 people, the project was designed with wooden bleachers, carpeted flooring, and acoustic and lighting solutions adaptable for talks, presentations, and debates.

Another notable intervention was the façade lighting project, signed by the architect, urbanist, and lighting designer Mariana Novaes, founder of Atiaîa. “It was a joy to do this project. I never imagined I would have the opportunity to light the façade of the former Izabela Hendrix Methodist University Center, where I studied, and thus give back a bit of everything I received. The result remains as a legacy for PUC and for the city,” she says.
