In 2020, CASACOR Minas Gerais reaches its 26th edition, consolidated as the largest and most important exhibition of architecture, interior design and landscaping in the state. Scheduled to take place between August 18th and September 20th, the edition will be hosted at Palácio das Mangabeiras .
As part of the exhibition's legacy, Minas Gerais landscaper Nãna Guimarães took on the challenge of recovering the gardens designed by Burle Marx , which were quite disrepaired and needed to be entirely rebuilt. The event also restored the public bathrooms located outside the Palace, a project under the responsibility of Valéria Junqueira , who invited the artist Alexandre Mancini to create two tile panels, one in the men's bathroom and the other in the women's bathroom.

The Original House

As the theme of the CASACOR exhibitions in 2020, The Original House comes from a reflection on the contemporary world, in which technology drives the need to always be connected. With this, a feeling of instability arises, whether due to the impetus to follow this rapid evolution or the feeling that arises from its consequences. The theme of the exhibitions originates from the urgency of finding a solution, which seeks to find balance between past and future through creativity, the return to origins, the land, ancestry and simplicity. The challenge for architects, designers and landscapers this year will be to make the house a refuge, a place to expose your roots and value your stories. Promising surprises, CASACOR should bring the public the perfect place to celebrate good living, but also to debate everything necessary for a better life. "In 2020, the exhibition once again gives visitors the opportunity to get to know and visit this property that tells a little about the history of our city. The event reinforces the idea that new uses are welcome and that our cultural heritage needs be increasingly valued", highlights Eduardo Faleiro, executive director of the event.
