Held for the second consecutive year, the
Minas Gerais State Architecture and Design Award was created to recognize the projects that stood out the most during
CASACOR Minas , which this year was
held at the historic Casa Ferolla , in the Santo Antônio neighborhood of Belo Horizonte. All of the spaces in the show (
50 in all ), designed by professionals in the areas of architecture, interior design and landscaping, are automatically eligible for the award. A total of
10 categories were created, analyzed by a panel of judges formed by the team from the
Estado de Minas newspaper (
Isabela Teixeira da Costa and
Celina Aquino) ,
Tetro Arquitetura (
Carlos Maia ,
Débora Mendes and
Igor Macedo ), as well as
Gabriel Castro , from
Móbio Arquitetura and
Júnia Nocchi , from CASACOR Minas.
Granted by the newspaper Estado de Minas to the participants of the exhibition, the award highlights the
recognition and
commitment of the largest newspaper in the state to professionals in architecture, interior design and landscaping in Minas Gerais. Among the categories created for the award are:
Best Environment, Best Art Installation, Interior Design, Bathroom, Landscaping, Newcomer, Gastronomic Area, Public Use Space in addition to two Honorable Mentions .
For Eduardo Faleiro and Juliana Grillo , CASACOR franchisees in Minas Gerais, “the award granted by the newspaper Estado de Minas to the participants of CASACOR Minas Gerais highlights the recognition and commitment of the largest newspaper in the state to professionals in architecture, interior design and landscaping in Minas Gerais. We, the board of directors, see this award as a celebration of local talent and an incentive for new professionals . Each space exhibited is the result of intense dedication and this honor recognizes those who shone in creativity, innovation and the realization of ideas in this edition.” Meet the winners of the 2nd Minas Gerais State Architecture and Interior Design Award:
Best Environment - Fireplace Room and Balcony, by Pedro Lázaro. “It felt like the first time,” said Pedro Lázaro , upon winning the 2nd Minas Gerais State Architecture and Interior Design Award. His project “ Lareira e Varanda” (Layer and Balcony Room ) was chosen as the best space at this year’s CASACOR Minas , which took place at Casa Ferolla, in the Santo Antônio neighborhood. The architect was thrilled to show that, even at 55 years of age and with 25 years of a successful career, the recognition makes his heart beat faster and motivates him to continue following what he believes in.
