CASACOR and Fazendinhando promote construction bazaar in Jardim Colombo

Bazaars made from donations are common in Jardim Colombo, a community located in the west zone of São Paulo. However, the 2021 Christmas edition has a new theme: civil construction . "As we received many donations of construction products, we decided to hold a more themed bazaar, promoting access to higher-priced pieces for residents", explains photographer and videomaker Kamilla Bianca , secretary of the Fazendinhando Institute, a territorial regeneration project with cultural development. , educational and social in the region, and one of the organizers of the event.

Called the Civil Construction Bazaar , the event took place on December 12th and provided, among other items, doors, tiles and coverings. The donations came mainly from the dismantling of CASACOR São Paulo 2021 , in addition to leftovers from construction sites and donations from partners. . "We have here Portinari floors that were used in the Deca environment at CASACOR São Paulo, tiles supplied by Telhanorte , railings and other materials", lists Darlan Firmato, architect and Sustainability Manager at CASACOR São Paulo . Some pieces were also directed to the Casa da Daniela project, which will renovate a resident's house next year in partnership with CASACOR. In addition, the transportation of all construction materials was provided by Ciclo , a sustainable solutions company.

"The pieces were limited per person, so we gave access to a greater number of interested parties. And, as it is a specific bazaar, we intend to map the destination of these items as well", says Kamilla. For example, a stair railing was reserved and delivered to a resident who has a family member with visual impairment . As other donations are expected to arrive later this year, there are plans to hold more bazaars. The entire action was in partnership with the Jardim Colombo Residents' Union , which provided the Girassol Nursery space for the event and also helped with volunteer work.

Fazendinhando Project

The construction material donation initiative complements two other actions coordinated by Fazendinhando : the Fazendeiras project , which promotes the training of women in the areas of gastronomy, civil construction and crafts; and the Fazendolar project , which renovates the homes of community residents. Including , the practical classes of the courses take place in the students' own homes and many of them end up renovating their own homes by themselves. During CASACOR São Paulo 2021 , a partnership with Coral trained women painters in Jardim Colombo and the students also contributed to the completion of environments at the São Paulo exhibition. In 2020, within the Janelas CASACOR São Paulo project, Ester Carro (president of Fazendinhando), architect Veronica Vacaro and the Plantar Ideias studio designed Galeria Fazendinhando , a container transformed into a permanent art gallery that promotes exhibitions of works by artists from the region. . For 2022, the plan is to continue with all courses and expand to neighboring communities, in addition to carrying out more renovations. Another initiative that should be put into practice soon is the implementation of vertical gardens in the community.
