The CASACOR Espírito Santo will host the CASACOR Talks on December 15th, a special gathering in celebration of Architect and Urbanist Day. The main guest will be the architect, professor, and writer João Diniz, in a talk moderated by the show directors, Ligia Diniz and Felipe Fioroti, focusing on reflections about the future of the profession. The program will also include a panel on market trends, featuring CASACOR businessmen and partners, Aridelmo Teixeira and Felipe Lomeu, who will discuss perspectives for the current and future scenario in Espírito Santo.
João Diniz is considered one of the most relevant voices in contemporary Brazilian architecture. A graduate of UFMG, he has built a career as a designer, educator, and critical thinker, being the author of works recognized nationally and internationally. Among his most notable projects are the Chapel in Lagoa Santa (2018), made of continuous concrete surfaces and listed among the 100 best projects of the 21st century by Re-thinking the Future, and the Sonastério (2017), a recording studio with accommodation that received an honorable mention at the 20th Annual IAB/MG Award and has hosted artists such as Milton Nascimento, Gal Costa, João Bosco, Lô Borges, Ney Matogrosso, Skank, Seu Jorge, and Criolo.
In addition to his professional practice, Diniz serves as an adjunct professor in the architecture program at Universidade Fumec in Belo Horizonte, and he has given lectures and courses in institutions in Brazil and countries such as Argentina, Martinique, Spain, France, Germany, Lithuania, and Poland. His work also expands into multidisciplinary creation through the Pterodata project, which integrates architecture with photography, sculpture, poetry, drawing, and music.
Author of books such as “João Diniz Arquiteturas”, “Experimental Aphorisms”, “The Book of Lines”, and “Futurography”, the architect regularly contributes to specialized publications and discussions on the identity of Brazilian architecture, sustainability, heritage, and contemporary challenges. CASACOR Talks will take place from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Fucape auditorium, with information and registrations available at @casacorespiritosanto.
