CASACOR , in pursuit of ISO 14.001 certification, has been working on sustainable initiatives since 2015, mainly at the São Paulo show. The ISO 14.001 standard is a tool created to help companies identify, prioritize and manage their environmental risks as part of their usual practices. With all actions designed to benefit the environment, the brand has become an influencer of sustainability and has already achieved significant results. In 2015, the show began to centralize waste and surveyed expectations, outlining the next steps in the project to become a sustainable event. At CASACOR São Paulo 2016 , in addition to monitoring resource consumption at the show, the waste produced was managed appropriately. That year, the first 100% sustainable environment was built, the Sustainable House , in partnership with Inovatech and Casa Aqua. At the 2017 show, the brand had its first local sustainability partner in the Leroy Merlin Miragem Space – a project by Plantar Ideias and Lao Design. The Renault Glass House , by architect Alexandre Dal Fabbro, received the 2017 sustainable environment certificate and the Sustainable House , by architect Mariana Crego, received the AQUA - HQE certification . In 2018, CASACOR São Paulo held the Sustainable Home Challenge , in which the winners were architects Larissa Oliveira and Gabriela Lottufo. As a prize, they designed the Leroy Merlin Sustainable Home. The Estadão CASA Award added an exclusive sustainability category to the technical jury's voting. For the first time, a waste sorting center was installed, sponsored by a national sustainability partner, Leroy Merlin. In addition, sustainable constructions grew, such as the spaces of Jóia Bergamo and Arthur Casas. Check out more details in the gallery. The idea, which is already being put into practice, is to reduce waste production as much as possible, creating a circular economy, in which the materials used are reused and recycled at the end of their useful life and organic matter is transformed, for example, through composting.
