CASA COR Minas awards the best environments of 2015

It is a tradition for CASA COR franchises to choose the most beautiful environments from their exhibitions. In Minas Gerais, 16 environments were presented today that stood out for their beauty, innovative use of materials, exploration of the Brazilian theme, and presentation of solutions for contemporary living.

“We are in the final stretch of the show and we are pleased to say that this edition, which marked our reunion with the Pampulha region, was a success, with wonderful and inspiring environments and solutions”, says director João Grillo, who has been at the helm of CASA COR Minas since its first edition, 21 years ago.

The Parklet, the first space in the exhibition, located on the sidewalk of Avenida das Latânias, in the São Luiz neighborhood, highlights the need in contemporary society for spaces of contemplation and urban kindness. Designed by Rafael Lamounier and Amanda Gomes, who debuted a joint project, the space was one of the award-winning spaces.

Another trend that stood out in this edition was the use of containers, also present among the award-winning environments: Box 16 ; Container Office ; and Casulo .

A solution that was also presented for the first time, Gabi Braga's 3D Virtual Bathroom is on the list.

For executive director Eduardo Faleiro, these awards show that the decision to combine a team of experienced and recognized professionals with young talents was successful. “This combination was intentional, since we are committed to showing decoration lovers the direction that architecture and design are going to take. And the jury’s choice of these environments proves that the strategy was right,” he says.

One of the most unusual spaces, the Glass House by Cristina Menezes, inspired by this year's theme of CASA COR, “Brazil Seen from the Inside”, is also on the list. As is the Otacílio Bar Gastrô by Luciana Savassi and Marcos de Paula. With a privileged view of Lagoa da Pampulha, the bar also had the distinction of replacing the traditional restaurants in the show.
