The Brazilian firm Cardim Landscape Architecture was recognized by the International Architecture Awards 2025 in the category of "Urban Planning/Landscape Architecture." The victory came thanks to the sustainable landscaping project of the Global Park, which brought over 200 native species from the Atlantic Forest to the billion-dollar development located on Marginal Pinheiros in São Paulo.

"This recognition is very important for the cause of sustainable landscaping that works towards the restoration of the greatest biodiversity in the world – which is Brazilian! [I hope] it serves as a tool for environmental education for Brazilians to value all this natural heritage that has been inherited, and that we can bring, still in this century, a possible harmony where everyone wins: humans and nature," celebrates Ricardo Cardim in an interview with CASACOR.

It is worth mentioning that the International Architecture Awards 2025 is one of the biggest awards for architecture, innovation, and sustainability in the world. Alongside Cardim, the Swiss Enea Landscape Architecture also celebrated victory in the category.

About Global Park

The Global Park is an R$ 18 billion venture on Marginal Pinheiros, featuring residences, a hotel, a hospital, a university, and a park. For the landscaping, the proposal from Cardim Landscape Architecture consisted of three points: restoring the landscape, connecting the fragments of the surrounding Atlantic Forest, and bringing the landscaping as close as possible to what it was before.

Over 200 native species from the biome were brought in to achieve these objectives. Additionally, the project foresees the creation of a large ecological corridor of the Atlantic Forest – connecting Parque Alfredo Volpi to Parque do Panambi. This way, it was possible to respect ancestral biodiversity and reinforce the city's resistance to climate change – ensuring benefits for climate regulation, attracting fauna, increasing air humidity, and incrementing native biodiversity.
