Chef Bela Gil, who hosts television cooking shows, is one of the main national references when it comes to healthy eating. And since gastronomy, in addition to nutrition, stimulates the senses,
invited
Olaria Paulistana to develop a line of ceramic utensils especially for her restaurant, Camélia Òdòdó, in Vila Madalena, São Paulo. The success of the ceramics at the restaurant encouraged the expansion of the partnership, which now extends to all those interested in the utensils.
There are bowls, cups, glasses, jugs, sauce boats and plates of various shapes and depths, pieces made with recycled clay and non-toxic material that do not release residue, created to accommodate the different recipes designed by the chef.
Because they are made using a process based on burning at high temperatures, they are quite resistant and can be used in ovens, microwaves, refrigerators and dishwashers.
To arrive at the specifications for the colors in this collection, a detailed study was carried out in the laboratory located in the studio itself, run by
Lucia Eid, owner of Olaria Paulistana . “Chef Bela Gil chose specific shades of pink, white and a turmeric yellow, inspired exactly by the color of a sneaker she loves. It took months of experiments to arrive at these beautiful and exclusive colors,” says visual artist and ceramist Lúcia Eid, who has art in her DNA, granddaughter of painter Adélia Aidar and daughter of sculptor Odette Eid.
Working on customized projects for various
chefs, restaurants and guesthouses throughout Brazil , Lúcia Eid is also the author of the book "
Prato Feito, cozinhando com as cores ", where she advocates colorful ceramics as a frame for chefs' recipes. According to Eid, ceramics have been gaining more and more prominence and are considered one of the strongest trends in the market, not only for serving dishes by great chefs, but also for adding more beauty, practicality and comfort to homes. The pieces from the
Bela Gil collection can be purchased, ready for delivery, at
Ateliê Olaria Paulistana or via the website throughout Brazil.
