Oasis - Pininfaria & Land.Design. Inspired by the resurgence of interest in conscious, human-centered living, Pininfarina’s design is an immersive experience. It engages the five senses to create moments of healing and tranquility for the mind, body and spirit. A pathway is the key element of the design. Designed to disconnect visitors from the technology-driven world and reconnect them with themselves, the narrow tunnel leads to an oasis filled with lush greenery, including a central “tree of life” and a cascading garden cascading from the ceiling. Biophilia, curated by LAND.Design, prioritized plants for their fragrant properties or medicinal uses.

The Amalgam - Tamara Feldman Design. With a mix of white oak joinery and emerald green vertical lines and Nero Marquina marble on the side walls, the elegant living room designed by Tamara Feldman achieves a high level of sophistication. In Feldman’s first participation in CASACOR, a refined atmosphere is promoted by the combination of materials and the custom-made interwoven details in the furniture – using mainly Minotti designs. One of the most interesting details is the tile “rug” designed by Elizabeth Sutton. The rug shows a play on pattern, color and contrast between white, black and jade green. The room also features two pieces by artist Robert Thielea.

Cristiana Mascarenhas - Scape Space. As the name suggests, this is an intimate area for relaxing, reading, playing and even exercising. Designed by Cristiana Mascarenhas of In Plus Inc., this cozy private space was created for just one or two people. A bookshelf completely covers one of the walls, while works of art line the rest of the space, including pieces by Frida Baranek, Maritza Caneca, Gustavo Prado, Heloisa Maia, Tanya Goel and Marcia Grostein. Furniture by Brazilian designers is also featured, with items by Paulo Werneck, Claudia Moreira Salles, Lina Bo Bardi, Ricardo Fasanello, Joaquim Tenreiro and also Cesar Mascarenhas.

Delectio - Id Workshop. For their first time at CASACOR Miami, interior designers Samantha Gallacher and Renata Vazconcez made a bold decision. They designed a pleasure chamber: “Delectio.” The duo transformed a small area into an adult entertainment room. Instead of going for the obvious—tones of gray—they chose an innovative color palette using lavender, mint green, and burgundy. These three colors form the velvet headboard that adds texture to the room. Opposite, marble covers the walls framing David Benoliel’s artistic portrait, accompanied by African jewelry, as well as an acrylic swing and toys by Gabriela Noelle.

Open Lobby Connection - Jesus Pacheco Studio. Florida’s lush nature, both marine and terrestrial, inspired Jesus Pacheco to design the CASACOR Miami lobby. Filled with neon colors, the project reflects the beauty of coral reefs, as well as the local flora and fauna. The Acaú armchair by Sergio J. Matos, inspired by the coral itself and handcrafted by skilled artisans, is one of the most important pieces. The recycled sculptures by artists Beatriz Chachamovits and Lauren Shapiro reinforce this connection with nature, as do the real native plants that adorn the space.

Bahamian Dreams - Alberto Salaberri. The Bahamas inspired Alberto Salaberri of Palm Beach Home Style to design this grand bedroom for CASACOR Miami. The design was heavily influenced by British colonial style, with an intriguing mix of textures. Created with natural materials and antique pieces, the space features traditional Chinese blue and white pottery. A soft white linen drapes the bed and sofa, contrasting with the dark chocolate mahogany frames. The fresh tropical feel is enhanced by elements such as seagrass rugs and raffia wallpaper.

Objects - Light on White. Imagined as a jewel box with precious furniture, this space created by Light on White presents for the first time a new collection of Koa tables designed by Alizee Brion, owner of the studio. Striking silhouettes carved from a single block of marble or wood with a glossy lacquer finish, Koa tables seemingly balance, defying gravity. While the table collection dances in playful lighting designed by Omer Arbel, mirrors invite viewers to discover visual poetry from different angles. The color palette created with white and light gray reveals the studio's refined aesthetic and minimalist inspiration.

Heirloom - Obadashian, Studio Roda and Johanna Boccardo. The story of how a family designed a rug for their Miami living room is the theme of Heirloom. It all started at the beginning of 2019, when Rodrigo Albir, from Studio Roda, received an interior design project from a couple and their daughter's new apartment. Albir decided to ask Jaime Odabashian and Johanna Boccardo to help create a work of art involving the entire family, one that would be meaningful for years to come. After working as a group on a blank canvas using ink and dyes, the family rug was sent to India to be hand-knotted in pure silk. The exhibition area shows all stages of the process through photos and videos.

Guimar Urbina Interiors - I am an influencer. There is no doubt that a decoration show like CASACOR tends to naturally become a hot topic on social media. Guimar Urbina, however, took this idea to the next level by creating an elegant design specifically to welcome influencers and bloggers. The room offers a work area with tables and chairs for meetings, developing content on the spot and even taking some photos. The interior designer also carefully selected the perfect backgrounds - with several options mounted on rotating panels - for the ideal selfie.

Light Room by Deca - Leo Shehtman. Brazilian architect Leo Shehtman is a well-known veteran of interior design fairs, having participated many times at CASACOR São Paulo since the brand’s inception. For his CASACOR Miami project, he designed the perfect place for family and friends to gather, combining a small dining and bar area with a comfortable living room filled with contemporary Brazilian design furniture. Some walls are partially covered in synthetic surfaces and others feature gradient wallpaper – all in a very refined and neutral color palette. The lighting design project adds a modern touch to the room with its industrial inspiration and black finishes.

Ydzn Bar - Yodezeen. The design of Ydzn Bar is based on connecting the contrasting spheres of life: cooking, relaxing, communicating and even working. Dark colors with touches of natural materials such as stone and wood are connected by light boxes and a vertical garden that transform the bar into a unique place. A large TV at the front of the room recognizes entertainment as an inherently social activity. A sleek natural stone countertop provides pleasant tactile sensations, while contemporary custom-made furniture forms the main part of the room. They focus attention on the main idea: functionality and human-centered design solutions.

Earth Lounge by Michelle Haim. The terracotta inspiration of this space is easy to spot. With sustainability being a big theme for this year’s show, Michelle Haim of Fanny Haim & Associates decided to go minimalist with her choice of materials. The design team used a brick produced in Mexico that was created in a very eco-friendly way. With its natural color, these bricks cover the walls and floors, reflecting the tones of the Earth and harking back to early human history. The bricks also cover the benches and the circular banquette, inviting visitors to relax and disconnect from modernity. A planter with a tall tree in the middle of the area brings the outdoors in and enhances the public space atmosphere that the interior designers were aiming for.

Family Room – Allan Malouf. The elegant room represents a major departure from his 2018 project for CASACOR Miami. “Last year, we created a very colorful space,” says Malouf. “Our design this season is all about a neutral color palette. The off-white, light gray and warm walnut tones create a cozy and sophisticated atmosphere. The large L-shaped sofa, right in the center of the room, can comfortably accommodate family and guests. As a nod to his Brazilian origins, the interior designer selected natural materials from South America. They appear in the wood flooring and shelving, as well as in the marble stone that frames the TV.

Sky High Retreat - B+G Design. Married couple Giselle Loor and Brett Sugerman may have found just the recipe for a comfortable and luxurious suite: a warm neutral color palette mixed with interesting textures and materials. There are even touches of metallics, gold and copper, throughout, including the ceiling and the butterfly wallpaper. White and brown Italian marble covers one wall, adding a touch of sophistication to the design. “We like to imagine this is the kind of space where top models from the ’90s would be seen,” says Giselle Loor. This sexy and charming atmosphere is enhanced by a beautiful photograph by Greg Lotus.

Artsy Room – Sig Bergamin and Murilo Lomas. Renowned for his maximalist style, Brazilian interior designer Sig Bergamin creates a room full of color for CASACOR Miami 2019. “My world is colorful. The mix of tones, excess and irreverence are the hallmarks of my work,” says Sig. The project showcases a bold combination of red, blue, green and gold. Design pieces include armchairs and tables by Vladimir Kagan, a sofa by Paul McCobb for Ralph Pucci and side tables by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. Carefully selected art rounds out the final round in a space to behold. Pieces by Brazilian artist André Poli and American neo-expressionist Hunt Slonem mingle with irreverent art by David Sorey and Lina Sinisterra.

Tarantino Meets Kubrick - Mr. Alex Tate Design. The 1970s and cinema were two of Alex Tate’s main inspirations when creating this space. Having worked in Hollywood for many years, the interior designer looked to two of his favorite directors, Quentin Tarantino and Stanley Kubrick, to create the bright color palette, featuring gold, yellow, orange, and hints of platinum, red, and dark blue. The hues can be seen on the pillows, armchairs, walls, and even the ceiling. As the studio’s signature style is approached through the lens of Modern Victorian (ModVic), the project’s eclectic look combines vintage and contemporary in a whimsical way.

Altis Ornamentum - Moniomi. For its second round of participation at CASACOR Miami, Moniomi decided to pursue a sports-themed theme, as was done in the last edition of the show. Highlighting the active interaction within the space, this time visitors will be able to play with furniture at all scales. The studio custom-designed each piece - with the exception of the seesaw, designed by Gabriela Noelle. The room is covered entirely in wallpaper reminiscent of the Greco-Roman style. The color palette was inspired by the varying hues of daylight across the sky.

Miami is versatile: the same landscape that plunges into a deep blue worthy of a postcard is the godfather of charming neighborhoods that tell history through architecture. A meeting point for advanced art and design, the city in Florida has its own atmosphere. Capturing this spirit was the challenge for the 20 professionals who make up the CASACOR Miami 2019 cast. The natural landscape that does not fade in the face of the intense urban scene is reinterpreted from different perspectives in minimalist, maximalist, experimental and, above all, sustainable environments.

Between concrete and sea

Neutral tones, luxurious metals, extravagant visuals and concrete creations: everything in the exhibition moves between the prisms of the city, playing with its possibilities. The artistic scene is transcribed by contrasting and striking colors, in contrast to environments with few pieces and large glass enclosures, which appeal to nature. To create all of this, architects who are already traditional at the show, such as Leo Shehtman, return for another edition. Other visionaries such as Moniomi Design, Allan Malouf, Pininfarina, Jesus Pacheco Studio, Edge Collections and Alberto Salaberri will be present. Sig Bergamin, elected one of the best designers in the world in 2017, and Michelle Haim, from the award-winning Fanny Haim & Associates, complete the list. The exhibition will run for three weeks starting on December 2. The projects were brought together at Brickell City Centre, a landmark architectural landmark that shapes the city’s landscape. For the third consecutive year, visitors will be transported to different realities without leaving the heart of the financial district. CASACOR Miami 2019
