One of the greatest references in architecture in Japan and around the world, winner of the
Pritzker in 2019 , architect
Arata Isozaki passed away this Thursday (30), at the age of 91.
Isozaki was known for his global work. He took his
modernist works to almost every continent, and thus left his mark (and his memory) around the world.
Works by Arata Isozaki
There are several famous and inspiring works that the architect left as a legacy. Among them, we can highlight: the
Qatar National Convention Center in Doha, the expansion of the
Brooklyn Museum of Art , the
Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles , the
Allianz Tower in Milan, the
National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo, among many other important buildings.

Isozaki excelled at bringing Eastern teachings to the West. He was mentored
by Kenzo Tange , the 1987 Pritzker Prize winner. They worked together for nine years before opening their own firm. Although Arata has left us, his work remains immortalized in memory and throughout the world where he left his magnificent buildings.
