There are many beauties in São Paulo : from the architectural gems that make up the city's postcards, such as MASP , to the practically endless options for leisure, culture and nightlife, it's hard to keep up with everything that's going on here. And on the day that the city turns 469, it's no different. For São Paulo residents who are looking for ways to enjoy the long weekend and, who knows, fall in love with the city all over again , we've selected the best cultural programs that are happening today, January 25th. 1. Get to know MASP

Anyone who has been to the São Paulo Museum of Art knows that on Tuesdays, admission to the museum is free. But in light of São Paulo's anniversary, one of the city's biggest landmarks has extended free admission to this Wednesday, January 25. The following exhibitions are currently on display: 'Cinthia Marcelle: Just in Case'; ' Madalena Santos Reinbolt: A Head Full of Planets '; 'Judith Lauand: Concrete Detour'; and 'Video Room: Aline Motta'. 2. Visit the Pinacoteca

In celebration of its 469th anniversary, entry to the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, one of the most important art museums not only in the capital, but in the entire country, will also be free. While the new building attached to the Pina is not inaugurated , you can visit the main building to see the exhibitions 'Pelas ruas: vida moderna e Experiências Urbanas na arte do Estados Unidos, 1893-1976'; 'Dalton Paula: Rota do Algodão'; ' Lenora de Barros: Minha Língua '; 'Jonathas de Andrade: O rebote do bote'; 'Uma Obra'; and 'O Colecionador: arte contemporânea e arte e colcionismo no acervo da Pinacoteca'. 3. Discover the Museum of the Portuguese Language

Right next to the Pinacoteca, another cultural space that will have free entry this Wednesday is the Museu da Língua Portuguesa. Great for visiting with children, the special program includes a temporary exhibition, activities for children and even a musical performance. Address: Luz Square, s/nº - Historic Center of São Paulo, São Paulo - SP, 01120-010 Opening hours: 9am to 4:30pm

4. Visit the Japan House exhibitions


For the special occasion, Japan House São Paulo has selected images from its most iconic exhibitions to represent each year of the institution’s presence in the city of São Paulo. The images will be displayed on a large LED panel in Sotodoma – an outdoor area on the ground floor, close to the sidewalk of Avenida Paulista. Postcards will also be distributed today to visitors to the institution. Address: 52, 52nd Ave, 01310-900 Opening hours: 9am to 6pm

5. Plan your visit to the Municipal Theater

If you've always put off going to the Municipal Theater, today is the perfect opportunity: the Municipal Symphony Orchestra will perform its Summer Concert at 5:00 p.m. The 60-minute show is an opportunity to experience classical music and absorb the beauty of the theater. Tickets range from R$12.00 to R$64.00. Address: 01037-010 Time: 5pm

6. Visit the new Ipiranga Museum

The recently reopened Ipiranga Museum is another address in the capital that has made its tickets free for the anniversary. Known for its French garden and its imposing architecture, the museum presents, in addition to its permanent schedule, the exhibition 'Memories of Independence'. 7. Take a ride on the newly opened Roda Rico

The recently opened new tourist attraction in São Paulo is already causing a stir , and of course it couldn't be left off this list. In addition to the tour, which is an attraction in itself, with views of the Pinheiros River and Villa-Lobos Park, Roda Rico will welcome chef Marcos Kherlakian, head of the Carlo's Bakery chain, to cut a cake in the shape of a Ferris wheel and attract even more tourists to the region.
