Allianz Parque , the headquarters of
CASACOR São Paulo 2021 , is lit up in purple until the end of the month in support of
Purple September , National Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month. The campaign's main objective is
to contribute to the expansion of early diagnosis and to access to treatment in Brazil . Purple September is promoted annually by Unidos pela Vida (Brazilian Institute for Cystic Fibrosis Care), in partnership with volunteers, associations and assistance and supporters throughout Brazil. This year, in its eighth edition, the main theme of Purple September is the importance of breathing, with the motto "
Take a deep breath, there's a lot of world ahead of you" . "With the COVID-19 pandemic, many people have become familiar with practices that are already common in the lives of those with cystic fibrosis, such as wearing a mask, using alcohol gel and social distancing. And they also began to value the act of breathing more”, explains
Verônica Stasiak Bednarczuk de Oliveira , diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at the age of 23 , founder and executive director of the
Unidos pela Vida Institute .
As part of Purple September 2021, purple lighting is being done on buildings and monuments in the main Brazilian capitals, such as the
