After much anticipation, the winners of the 7th edition of the Correio Braziliense/CASACOR Brasília Awards were revealed on the evening of Thursday, October 3. Awards were given in 10 categories , four of which were chosen by popular vote on the Correio Braziliense website. The trophy was created exclusively for the awards by landscaper and designer Mendo Barreto. In total, there were 6,795 valid votes from the public , who selected their favorite environments among the categories Dream Living Room, Dream Bathroom, Dream Bedroom and Dream Kitchen. The other six were defined by a judging committee composed of Cristina Caetana Franarin (creator of Brasília Design Week), Cássio Veiga (entrepreneur of Cássio Veiga Casa), Denise Zuba (interior designer and businesswoman), Cilene Vieira (advisor to the president of Correio Braziliense), Hélio Albuquerque (architect), Ivana Valença (director of Casapark), Monica Blanco (federal advisor of CAU-BR) and Samuel Lamas (architect and designer).

For Moema Leão , partner at CASACOR Brasília, the importance of the award goes beyond increasing the reach of the artists and the exhibition. “It is also essential to give the participants the recognition they deserve ,” she says. “It is also great to measure what the public likes most in the popular categories,” adds Eliane Martins, also a partner at the brand. The eight jurors who made up the Technical Jury elected the best environments in the categories Most Original Project, Best Commercial Use, Best Public Use, Best Use of Work of Art, Most Bold Project and Best Project of 2024. In the Most Original Project category, there was a tie between the projects Meu Ryokan, by Márcio Corrêa , and Suíte Casal, by Marcela Schiavoni and Felipe Zorzeto . Elisa Fraga e Guilherme Bussamra - Universo Anacrônico. Finally, the winner of the Best Project of 2024 award was the Tempo Sagrado environment, by Larissa Dias . “It’s a joy! I was super happy, because it took a lot of effort and mobilization to make it happen, and in the end, having this recognition makes all the difference,” celebrated the architect.

For Guilherme Bussamra and Elisa Fraga , who are in charge of the Universo Anacrônico project, which won three of the 10 awards of the night , it was the finale with a flourish that the season deserved. “It’s the greatest reward there is! We studied a lot before doing this project, every little detail,” says Elisa. “It wasn’t easy, there were a lot of colors, textures and prints in this project. Throughout the show, a lot of people praised it, and winning the award makes everything even better,” adds Guilherme. Check out all the winning projects in the gallery:
