One of CASACOR 's most exciting achievements this year is the CASACOR Window Challenge , a proposal in which 6 architects occupy two containers on a rotating basis. They are: Arthur Guimarães , Beatriz Quinelato , Gabriel de Luca , Helô Marques , InTown Arquitetura and Marcelo Diniz . It works like this: at the entrance to the D&D Shopping Mall in São Paulo, we will have two containers that will be occupied alternately by different architects. While one space is ready for display, the other will be assembled. The following week, the finished space will be quickly dismantled for receive another professional. In this way, for six weeks, while one container displays a ready environment, the other will be being developed. The challenge for the professional is to be able to install the space in just four days and, after the week of exhibition, dismantle it in just two days. In addition to the reduced time, there is another detail: the new space must use a piece (furniture, lamp, decorative object) used in the previous space. For the public, it will be an opportunity to see not only the final product, but also the details of each architect's construction and creative process, something that was not possible in exhibitions until now. The transparent front of the containers becomes a window into the methods of each professional.

Participants give spoilers about the containers

Beatriz Quinelato is excited about the new project. “The invitation to be part of the CASACOR Windows Challenge made me accept it immediately, because in this challenge I was able to unite exactly the things I believe in! Prioritizing the essential and getting closer to Nature! That’s why I called the 'Listen to the Green' project.”

The reflections arising from the period of social isolation were inspirations for many of the environments. For Helô Marques, a reading was the basis. “During the pandemic, I spent 3 months in a family country house and was able to dedicate myself to reading a book that I always read. I wanted to read: The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann. When the invitation from CASACOR came, I immediately made the connection. I thought about the issues of modern architecture and its "sanatoriums" designed for healing in the broadest sense, in the connection with Nature and well-being that a good architect favors.” Arthur Guimarães, on the other hand, used the concept of light as a central point in space. “We currently live in a time of intense reflection and introspection. Eigentlich, a German word meaning intrinsic light, refers to the visual interference we see when we hold our eyes our eyes closed. The project is characterized by contemporary poetic language, where the observer is faced with clean architecture, in relation to the purity and timelessness of the materials.”
