There's still a little while until
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro opens our 2021 decoration season. But here we already anticipate five of the trends that you'll see at the show, which will be very different from previous editions. Hybrid, it will have an in-person version, from March 2nd to April 25th, 2021, focusing on the experience of visiting the house: an iconic mansion in the Botanical Garden surrounded by 12 thousand m² of Atlantic Forest. And a digital version that will favor new formats allowing the public to explore every corner of the 38 environments – including spaces, patios and gardens – in interactive videos and 3D tours.
1. Ephemeral architecture. Lightweight constructions that can be easily transported from one place to another are increasingly in vogue. And that is what the Diego Raposo Arquitetura office intends to bring to the exhibition. In a charming corner that looks more like a secret garden, two inflatable plastic igloos will be set up, true portable refuges designed to provide a greater connection with nature.
3. Multipurpose house. No matter the size of the house or apartment, in recent months everyone has seen the functions of each space in the house multiply. Architects Tatiana Lopes and Tatiana Mendes create an environment designed for multiple uses: a living room that is also a home-office, home-fitness and can also be used to house a guest. And all this in a mere 20 m². 4. Balconies, balconies and terraces. Open spaces gained even more importance during the pandemic. Anyone who lives in an apartment and has a balcony or terrace takes advantage of the space. Those who don't have it, wanted more than ever to move to an address with this possibility. So much so that landscaper Anna Luiza Rothier, who always creates gardens in our shows, opted for a balcony this year. The idea is to show the multiple functions that the extra room can perform: space to start the day, eat meals, relax, receive guests. 5. Rio way of living. And, of course, the Rio exhibition will show that sophisticated and casual way that only Rio residents have. It can be seen in practically every environment, but it's worth taking an extra look at the space by interior designer Paola Ribeiro, who interprets casual chic in her Couple's Suite.
