This is the fourth year that the commitment to Zero Waste has been a priority on CASACOR São Paulo 's agenda . In the last edition, the show received an A grade for good practices and, this year, it partnered with Pachamama to work on carbon offsetting and also achieved an impressive 99.8% landfill diversion rate. The result of this series of actions aligned with sustainability could not have been different: CASACOR once again received the Zero Waste Certificate . Respecting the methodology established by the Zero Waste International Alliance (ZWIA), through the Instituto Lixo Zero Brasil, the audit aims to evaluate the application of the Zero Waste hierarchy , both based on the documents submitted and on-site inspection. Among the priority criteria were Redesign, Reduction and Reuse, Composting, Recycling, Reverse Logistics, Zero Waste Policy, Innovation, Control and Monitoring .

In addition to adopting measures that stimulate the circular economy , such as dry construction, reuse of water resources, energy savings, selective collection, recycling programs and proper disposal of waste, the São Paulo show also donates construction materials resulting from the dismantling of the event to NGOs. "The sustainable practices we have implemented, not only in terms of control and rational application of materials for reuse, but also in the correct disposal of waste, make the exhibition a great example for the market", explains Darlan Firmato, Operations Director at CASACOR.

New partnership with Pachamama for the preservation of the Amazon

To encourage good practices and develop the commitment to sustainability within the event, brands and professionals joined CASACOR São Paulo's sustainability partnership with Pachamama : the objective is to help companies offset Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. The initiative meets CASACOR's national theme, “As a gift, now” , which invites the entire cast of the show to reflect on how our daily decisions impact future generations, keeping in mind that we will always be someone's ancestors.

The steps of this process are carried out using the Life Cycle Analysis methodology and have the following divisions: data collection, data insertion and adjustment in the software, life cycle analysis, verification of results, and compensation and certification of projects. Compensation and preservation projects using digital assets are managed by Greener Tokens; credits are audited by KPMG and tokenized to ensure security and traceability. “CASACOR is committed to ensuring that the construction, architecture and interior design market is working to ensure the health of the planet for future generations, through our Sustainability and Social Responsibility Program , which has been in place since 2016. The challenge is to provoke reflection and action , both through the choice of themes and our partners in this journey to reduce impacts”, concludes Darlan.
