During DW! week, many pieces and new talents are revealed. At
Boomspdesign – which takes place from September 5th to 7th, at the Ibirapuera Biennial –,
Wesley Lemos (who designed the
Estúdio AMORPHOUS project at
CASACOR São Paulo 2022 ) will be present. and stands out with a launch that brings ancestry and connections with nature to the center: the
WURA armchair .

The armchair emerges as a counterpoint to the digital world and the metaverse: Wesley Lemos uses the vernacular technique of reed weaving,
a sustainable material , which combines with the
elegant textures of noble and ecological fabrics in a tangible design that values ergonomics.
“I carry in my DNA the permission to move without prejudice about
ancestral wisdom and the
erudition of my profession as a designer with spiritual license, respecting the materials and natural riches of our planet”, says Wesley Lemos about his creative process.

WURA means gold in Yoruba – and loosely translated it also means prosperity and abundance. “There is nothing better than using this resource to
value families and artisans in favor of more natural design pieces and products , knowing where each piece comes from and where it goes that I create and this makes me move an Afro-indigenous energy that is valued in my art”, he concludes. “The
reed is sacred and has resistance and flexibility just like our northeastern people”, says the architect.

The WURA armchair is Wesley Lemos' first creation for body use , and comes in sizes S, M and L to provide comfort for different types of people and bodies.
