By Kamy , a leading rug and tapestry store in Brazil, Mônica Novaes, the main trends are related to "the greater appreciation and emphasis on shapes, textures and natural fibers. Those huge rugs come out a little bit of stage, to make room for pieces that add movement, dynamism, fluidity and that assume, in each context, some protagonism in these spaces." Sustainability
CASACOR has a strong sustainability pillar
, and guided by this, the cast often brings news on how to be more ecological in architecture and decoration projects. Rugs were the latest trend in sustainability actions. An example of this was the tapestry designed by By Kamy in partnership with
Ricardo Abreu , named
Tapeçaria Urbano Nova Paulista . The element was present in the
00:00 Restaurant project at CASACOR São Paulo.
Organic forms
Barbara Dundes Arquitetura - Estúdio Bereshí. O nome do ambiente de 47 m² criado por Barbara Dundes deriva da palavra hebraica que inicia o primeiro livro do Pentateuco, traduzida como “no princípio”. De acordo com a profissional, a expressão se refere tanto ao retorno à essência como aos momentos de recomposição após um trauma. A ideia de juntar os cacos para dar origem a algo novo está expressa no piso de fragmentos de pedra natural proveniente de descarte. Organic shapes stood out more than ever at
CASACOR São Paulo , and rugs were allies in bringing this trend to the fore. Rounded shapes are more fluid and help to bring more lightness and delicacy to spaces.

The search for the
Particular Infinite - this year's CASACOR theme - was marked by a return to the primitive, and one of the striking features to achieve this was the use of natural coverings. The architects adopted a clever strategy of mixing fibers with cosmopolitan touches that combine very well well with the atmosphere of São Paulo where the exhibition is taking place.

Highlights include the spaces designed by
Consuelo Jorge , one of the professionals honored in this special edition, and by the duo Caio Bandeira and Tiago Martins. The professionals selected rugs made from hemp, jute and even dehydrated seaweed. Pieces that stand out not only for their appearance rustic, but also for the expressiveness of the colors even in neutral palettes.
Handmade

Handmade rugs also stood out at this year's São Paulo show. Architects tried to bring touches of their own personality to their projects, and adopting elements made by their own hands became a trend. Inspired by the basketwork designs of Attilio Baschera and Gregório Kramer, Marcelo Salum - who designed
Casa Coral - and his team handcrafted the shapes in four rugs. The solution they found was to hand-weave them in Revolution, an exclusive fiber from By Kamy. which mixes vinyl and polyester.

Juarez Cruz also got his hands dirty and made a rug out of jute and fabric, as if it were knitting.
