Anyone who had the chance to visit CASACOR São Paulo in 2022 was undoubtedly impressed by the tapestry that welcomed visitors to the 00:00 Restaurant . The piece, designed by architect Ricardo Abreu in partnership with the By Kamy rug brand, is now competing in the 35th Design Award of the Museu da Casa Brasileira (MCB) . The award is one of the most important in the area in Brazil . Among the more than 600 entries, 74 products and works were recognized as 1st, 2nd and 3rd places; honorable mentions; selected and highlighted, according to a statement issued by the organization.
The award-winning and selected pieces will be part of the traditional Prize exhibition, held at the museum's own facilities located on the traditional Avenida Faria Lima in São Paulo , open from last Friday, December 16th. The 3.00 x 1.70 m tapestry was handcrafted from textile fragments of jute, polyester, wool, viscose and dehydrated seaweed (seagrass), demonstrating in practice the countless possibilities of the so-called 360° or circular design.
