With the aim of rescuing the memory of
modern Brazilian design , celebrating contemporary design and its global circulation and highlighting new talents,
SP-Arte , considered the largest art and design meeting in the country, was attended by big names from the national scene, who explored the intersections of these universes. In the 2023 edition, which took place until April 2nd, at the Bienal Pavilion,
SUITE Design , the design arm of
SUITE Arquitetos , part of
CASACOR , one of the most relevant offices in the segment, was present at the fair with the launch of serial collections that celebrate the office's
15 years in this encounter between
design and
art. (Henrique Padilha/CASACOR)
SUITE Design partners – Carolina Mauro, Daniela Frugiuele and Filipe Troncon – announced the launch of the
Transbordar collection , which features a serial edition of the
Lina Armchair , considered a design icon, designed in 2017 for
Líder , a Brazilian company that is a reference in the
decoration and
furniture segment, and which is celebrating five years since its launch. The collection proposes a connection between
design, fashion and
art , questioning the perimeters between the markets, and proposes an overflow of borders and dialogue between each of the disciplines.

In addition to the distinctive fabrics developed with Srta Galante, Nani Chinellato, Ecosimple and Adriana and Carlota Atelier, the emblematic
wooden ball , a detail of the armchair, was replaced by
natural stones , in raw and smooth versions, resuming the existence of energy and harmony as the design principle.

“Organic forms allow
permeability , deformation and reformation, suggesting edges with more fluid and natural limits. Just like water, which is a source of life and does not impose its shape or color, adapts, adjusts and accommodates, the organic suggests this possibility of overflowing and rebirth at every moment”, highlights the trio. The development of the pieces was based on
textile research into ancient manual practices carried out on the Asian continent and brings the
unique value and vivacity of craftsmanship .

His graphics and volumes explore the intersection of planes with varying heights, densities and textures, in readings that refer to interpretations of topographies, rock formations, lunar craters and evoke the need for nature through their
colors and
tonal compositions.
