Exploring the fluidity of the lines and sinuosity of the form,
Rodrigo Ohtake , together with the creative team at the
Ohtake office, designed the new
Meandros collection, for the rug brand
Punto e Filo , made up of 20 models, which bring striking tones to rugs made of artisanal form and sustainable material.
This is the second collection signed by Rodrigo for the brand, “Unlike the first collection, I wanted to do it in a more artistic way, with unusual chromatic compositions, in an intuitive way. It was a very free work, done through drawings”, says Rodrigo, who drew the pieces freehand and loosely with his creative team, in a creative and horizontal way.
The color palette explores bold nuances and combinations that are out of the ordinary, designed together with the brand. "I like to make some more daring combinations, inspired by Alfredo Volpi, one of the greatest colorists in the history of Brazilian art and who has always made very unusual combinations. We had a very interesting exchange with the brand, until we arrived at the final nuances. Furthermore, , in this collection the height of the hairs is free, the buyer will be able to choose how they want in a personalized way”, says the architect.
“It is impossible to disassociate this family legacy, which is important even culturally and is present in the pieces not in a rational way, but in a plastic way that reflects this family history. It is possible to identify roots and points of convergence”, he reveals.
Punto e Filo brings ECONYL® fibers to the market, a material developed by the Italian company Aquafil with a revolutionary technique that uses nylon products discarded in oceans and landfills as raw materials, without losing their original quality.
