Between May 27 and 31, 2026, Lisbon hosts the fourth edition of Lisbon Design Week, an event that already holds a prominent place on the city's cultural agenda. Over the five days, the program spreads across around 80 addresses, including galleries, ateliers, shops, workshops, exhibitions and private spaces.

More ambitious and comprehensive, this year's edition brings together more than 150 creators, including new participants connected to contemporary design, craftsmanship and cultural exchanges. Among the names on the curatorial council is Brazilian Guto Requena, member of the cast of CASACOR São Paulo 2026. The architect and designer is recognized for his work at the intersection of design, technology, empathy and inclusion.

Each participant is invited to present Portuguese Design, whenever possible using locally sourced materials, while simultaneously promoting collaborations with artists, designers, craftspeople, architects and brands.

Handmade Design

Handcrafted work takes a prominent role at Lisbon Design Week 2026 with the Handmade Design exhibition. The show takes the jar as an ancestral symbol of human production to discuss connections between craftsmanship and contemporary design, gathering creators from different fields and techniques around manual making.

Spotlight

The 2026 edition inaugurates the Spotlight section, a new hub dedicated to individual presentations by designers. The proposal brings together pieces from different phases and collections of each creator, highlighting names such as Gonçalo Campos, Alan Louis, Vasco Fragoso Mendes, Natasza Grzeskiewicz and Tomás Fernandes.

Integrity of Form

Luso Collective presents the exhibition Integrity of Form, a project that investigates the balance between functionality and aesthetic expression in contemporary design. The show brings together pieces developed from material experimentations, exploring how techniques, forms and structures can simultaneously respond to practical needs and artistic proposals. Among the participants are names such as André Teoman, Joana Vilaca, Rosana Sousa, Filipe Teixeira and Tiago Moura.

Sotaque

Curated by Guto Requena, Moldo Studio presents in this edition Sotaque, a collective that brings together designers influenced by the histories and cultures of the former Portuguese colonies. The proposal explores objects that go beyond everyday functionality to also take on symbolic, cultural and affective dimensions, valuing memory, ancestry and identity through design.

The exhibition proposes a more sensitive look at the pieces and at the narratives they carry. Among furniture, lighting and tapestries, the set highlights the diversity of references, materials and perspectives of the creators, emphasizing cultural exchange as a central element of contemporary production and reinforcing design as a space of plurality, dialogue and belonging.

Arraiolos Reimagined

The exhibition Arraiolos Reimagined revisits the traditional Portuguese Arraiolos embroidery from a contemporary language, bringing together designers from different regions of Portugal in proposals that unite craftsmanship and current design. Instead of appearing only as a decorative piece, the embroidery is incorporated into utilitarian objects, such as benches and furniture, creating a dialogue between cultural heritage, functionality and new aesthetic experimentations.

QuartoSala Brazilian Design

QuartoSala dedicates an exhibition to the work of Brazilian designer Bernardo Figueiredo in a former palace located in the Príncipe Real neighborhood. The show brings together pieces by important names in Brazilian design, such as Sérgio Rodrigues and Jader Almeida, highlighting the combination of organic forms, comfort and the timeless aesthetic that marks the country's production.

DC.AD × Constança Entrudo

DC.AD and Constança Entrudo present a modular surface systemdeveloped from the convergence between architecture and textile research. The pieces function as flexible structures capable of reorganizing and transforming projects in a temporary way, proposing new possibilities for occupying space without permanent alterations.
