The exhibition
SERTÃO SOBRE SERTÃO - Narrativas Poéticas e Design Autoral , a solo show by designer
Fabio Melo , opens on June 30 at the
Museu Cais do Sertão in Recife and presents an unprecedented design show that redefines stories through the eyes of the observer. Here, the concept is to redefine what already exists. It will be on display until August 5. The designer developed a work focused on furniture such as chairs and tables, which fills the museum's exhibition design in three acts:
Wanderings – Leaving the Box ,
Go in Faith – Kneeling, You Have to Pray and
The Backlands Will Become the Sea – Sailing on the São Francisco River .
The designer's restlessness leads him to create creations that are not confined to childhood memories: Fabio immerses himself in the daily life of the country folk, experiencing the place and the culture in search of his identity. The first act, “
Wanderings – Coming Out of the Box ,” reveals a journey through the designer's emotional memories that make up his repertoire. It is a wooden box installed in the central part with the
Aloi Swing : the first piece of furniture he created in 2018.
Closing the exhibition, the third act “
O Sertão Vai Virar Mar – Navegando no Rio São Francisco ” is an installation of houses with iconographic memories of design and a photography exhibition. “These are images recorded in the experience of the artist and my friend Augusto Tulio on our walk through the Sertão of Alagoas”, he says.
