One of the most famous architects in the world, responsible for
MASP, Sesc Pompeia and other memorable monuments,
Lina Bo Bardi is back at
Casa de Vidro , her former home, through her design pieces.
A Casa de Vidro, de Lina Bo Bardi / (Nelson Kon/CASACOR)
There are eleven pieces that were "lost" in the deposit of a farm in the interior of São Paulo and that returned to the capital after being restored by Casa Bittencourt. Sofa, tea cart, dining table, armchairs, beds and other furniture are the highlights of the exhibition. The pieces were created by
Lina Bo Bardi and Giancarlo Palanti when they decided to create a design studio (one of the first in Brazil) in partnership with Pietro Maria Bardi, the architect's husband.
The client was none other than the architect
Vilanova Artigas , who ordered the pieces for the project of the house of the doctor José Mário Taques Bittencourt.
In addition to the exhibition (which is only available until April 6th), the pieces will be immortalized in the recently released book, Lina Bo Bardi & Studio de Arte Palma - Revived Masterpieces from Bittencourt House, which tells the story of
the furniture's recovery, photos old ones from the residence and even drawings made by Lina under the authorship of the duo Sergio Campos and Lucas Jimeno Dualde. Tickets for the exhibition can be purchased on the
Instituto Lina Bo Bardi website , and cost from R$29 (half) to R$58 (full). Visits can be made on Thursdays and Fridays and on Saturdays at the times: 10am, 11:30am, 2pm and 3:30pm.
